This virtual Inn stands for the simpler, more beautiful things in life that are open to all if you start each new day with gratitude, blessings, and desire good health. Happiness and joy fill our bodies with good chemicals ! Keep them flowing. Today can be the start of your optimal healing adventure.
This is a Nursing practice, being both Traditional and Integrative. But it is also so much more. I believe that optimal wellness should be enjoyable. Your health is so much more than genetics. Your sleep, water, exercise, emotions, and food are the basics of being happy in your skin (so to speak). Many services that I provide can also be done by yourself in the comfort of your home.
I will be discussing many of these one at a time in SIMPLE words, for it is important to take baby steps along the way so that new habits will stick. Most of the things that keep us healthy are common sense, not some gadget or expensive device. I believe CARING is at the basis of what gives us joy and a healthy mental state.

Ive talked many times about cortisol. it is a repairing chemical for flight or flight....but when over released it is harmful to your adipose tissue in your belly fat as well as artery clogging and fog brain.
Wether it is sadness, anger, guilt or other stressors in our daily life, we need to exercise our free agency and ability to change our negative routines.
We must get up and move physically and mentally to create change and ward off disease.
Even after the grief of a loved one, we need to create a new identity.
Long walks, art, hobbies, crafts and music can get you "out of your head," so to speak. It acts as a time to relax, unwind and release unwanted thoughts. As well as all the benefits that Nature can give us.
As a side note:
Dr Berg also warns us of cell phone emf and led which affect our pineal gland (biorhythms) and the
pituitary gland (master hormonal gland).
With all the stressors each day, try to get at least one hour of down time for our mental and ultimately physical health.

We never stop learning and it is up to us to decide how we want to grow. We are not done with life, only finding a new path and new ways of doing things.

There should be no hate or despise or regret as my time gets near.
Does it matter that the "bucket list" did not get finished? Isnt it just more stuff, that might lead to regret? They say to start thinking of our end way before its due because you never know when it will arrive.
Comfort without pain is paramount. Is there such a thing as "a good death?"
Plan for your favorite music, favorite smell, favorite meal and drink and have those you love by your side if you wish.
What lies ahead is up to "YOU",
not your family's or friends wishes. Keep in mind it will be your "birth" into another journey. You are the captain of the ship, so proudly sail it into your dreams and desires of tomorrow.

We are never prepared, no matter how much you plan. The paperwork and finances are only a speck in the dust. It is the daily sound, smell, voice and touch that is the missing and tearing ache felt each day.
But with the pain, there arrives a need to go on, build, create, make meaning of this unbelievable change in your life. Take those precious memories and share them, create light that shines in showing yourself and others that love is not lost and will always be there in heart and soul.
Grieve with open arms and embrace life as a blessing with meaning to hold dear. Now is the time to open your eyes and see all the beauty around us and know they will always be near.

Gratitude and blessings that we already have ,can be shared with others in the simplest ways .
A smile, a kind gesture, caring words, thoughtful actions. What we give, we receive in return.
All of the above can be had without cost or expense and part of our "return" without asking is positive chemicals within us.
Sharing is receiving and living with positive affirmations
to heal and help us to be the best we can be.

Each day, the birds sing if my ears hear. I can smell the fresh outdoor air if my sense of smell works. I can look at the "old" in a new way with my imagination. If my hands can feel, I can gently glide my palms across a soft blanket. As I speak, I can communicate my feelings. As I move my body, my face tells others of a fleeting joy. As I think, I can share with another. If my hands work, I can write, or type my thoughts.
I have control over so many things in my surroundings, although it may not seem like it.
If i discard wastes and fluid from my body, i know my digestion and kidneys are working. Without a thought, I breathe and the brain does the work. My body destroys and regenerates new cells every day with out my command.
My mind, my thoughts, my feelings have way more control over my health that we realize. We can mentally and therefore physically, create good chemicals in our body by meditation and breathing techniques.
Exercise is range of motion no matter how small. Wether it is a toe press, moving fingers, raising your arms, writing the alphabet with your feet or rolling side to side.....they all increase oxygen, build muscles, aid in waste removal and nutrient uptake.
BLISS is knowing I have some control over my life today. Baby steps in knowing this, increases our outlook and quality of life in the moment.

Grounding and its health benefits have existed for thousands of years
years in traditional Chinese medicine, Aboriginal cultures, and Indigenous communities.
Also, In the 1800s, well-known German scientists began proposing walking barefoot for health benefits and the down sides of wearing rubber soled shoes.

As we move into Winter, one may look around and say that everything is dying off.
In reality, it is just life's seasons in which nature promotes birth.
Others may point out that it appears depressing, mentally cold and diseased,
... as the leaves fall and gardens look dead.

Outside, "dis-ease"
only appears to be against the growth of life.
But, within natures quiet stillness, there are echos to be heard,
... as newness is being brought forth.
Step outside to alert your senses and open your mind,
...and delight in the fresh air, the sounds, sights and smells.

And too, Just as any dis-ease growing within our Body,
... the cells are crying out to be noticed.
In its infancy,
it sends us notices in the forms of symptoms,
... that a "season" is about to change.
If we listen well,
we are being told to give birth to new
Health Routines.
Even if we don't listen to our bodies cry's for change,
...many of our cells and tissues continue to renew themselves without us even intervening.
However, just as nature can become exhausted and diseased with toxins,
... our livelihood and existence can as destroyed as well, mentally, physically and spiritually.
Therefore, we need to give ourselves the correct nutrients
to assist in removal
of these wastes.
Nutrients in the form of:
Water
(our rain),
Proper Foods
(our soil) ,
Movement
to get rid of waste
(our wind),
And Rest
(allowing Growth), and Healing,
... by also decreasing stress chemicals, toxins & other sources of cellular enemies.
You see,
we are pretty much a part of nature,
as it is... "us."
Dis--Ease is a necessary part of the life cycle, but we can assist the seasons of our life,
... by listening to what our body 's are trying to tell us.
We can take a stand, make changes,
and create patience and positive motivation.
By making changes, we can slow down dis-ease,
and many times actually reverse it
as well.
Its a new year now,

It's that time and the weather is starting to change. It might be the climate change way of life now... or just a mix up in mother nature.
But, everything has a reason. I see huge maple leaves turning colors and falling, weeds going to seed and there are occasional cool breezes in-between days of warm.

Only you and your body, mind and spirit knows what you need. Moderation in all leads to slow steady changes.
Positive words allow positive chemicals and changes to happen. They also reduce the negative chemicals we feed ourselves frequently.
Try forest bathing for new life force and new thoughts. Allow fresher air to aid in your health. Being in the moment even for a short period allows so many benefits to transpire within us.
For those baby boomers, remember the phrase "I know I can, I know I can".

With respect to feeling, touching, hearing, seeing, and smelling, the actions it has on our being is amazing.
Fresh air to clear our lungs, vitamin d from the sun, the microbes we pick up that aid our immunity, hearing nature in all its glory as it adds endorphins (feel-good chemicals) to our physiology.
As well as a reduction in inflammatory long-term cortisol, smells that aid in our memory recall and the touch of our bare feet on the earth or grass that sends signals via our neuropathways and meridians to the pituitary gland.
Our bodies know that we

There have been many articles lately that discuss the changing role of the MD in physical exams. Much of this problem stems from insurance companies and corporate greed.
Amazingly though, RN's still have state- mandated complete physical exams by each body system. with hands-on. But with a shorter time to perform them.
Either way, we need to be more aware of our bodies at home.
Early as Hypocrites, as well as Chinese and Ayurvedic there was a system of checking the rhythm of the pulses, nails and tongue, smell, voice and such. A dying art-form that begs for attention.
Many diseases begin with simple changes that so often go un-noticed. Keep a small notebook and log in the differences in your symptoms, bringing it to you office visit next time. Make a copy of the page for your MD/NP/ND/DC or other provider.
Some may be simply from diet or lack of exercise or lack of sleep. All which may create an early disease state. Others may help the doctor find an early diagnosis of a disease.
If it is enough for you to notice, and be a nuisance...then it is enough to acknowledge, document and keep track of.
Become one with what your body is telling you, even the minor issues!!!
The end of the year is drawing near. New thoughts are on the rise while the temperatures are becoming low.

It's no surprise anymore, the research is in. The better you take care of yourself, the better your hormones will be in balance. (yes, men have hormones too :).
Increase your water intake and get up get moving or sit there and move more. Arms, fingers, toes neck...they are all interconnected! Do without that water, drink or food 3 hours before bedtime and
good grief....leave the phone out of the bed area!!!
Try one new or old vegetable each week and nix the canned and convenience foods.
Most important, the gut and the brain are connected, for they both depend on each other to get those "good hormones" out.
So do something that makes you smile, no matter how small it is. It really is your choice!
